THE Workshops
The Healthy School Lunchbox
Roll up your sleeves and join Renae for a 2-hour, hands-on cooking experience. Together we create 3 or more school-friendly snacks that will satisfy your kids without compromising their health. All recipes are nut, gluten and refined sugar-free, with dairy and meat-free options. Plus, all Renae’s lunchbox recipes contain hidden vegetables to give your child that extra nutritional boost without them even knowing it!
Each participant will get a sample of all the lunchbox snacks we make during the workshop to take home and test out on the kids! You’ll also get a take-home copy of all the recipes for you to work off when you make your next batches at home.
Healthify Your Household
Do you struggle to cut through the health claims, confusing ingredients and weird preservative numbers on food labels? You’re not the only one!
Join Renae for this 1.5-hour workshop where you’ll learn how to decipher the mystery that is food label jargon. Renae will offer healthy food swap suggestions for some of your family favourite packaged goods. You’ll be sure to leave with a mixing bowl full of knowledge on how to navigate supermarket aisles and make healthier food choices for you and your family.
Mid-week Dinners for the Whole Family
Dinner is often the most challenging meal of the day – tired, hungry kids and frazzled parents just home from work is a familiar scene in many households. Few parents could honestly say that cooking a nutritious evening meal from scratch after working all day is something to look forward to, especially with the kids pestering for something to eat in the background!
The answer, Renae says, is to have a few 30-minute meals up your sleeve ready to go. Over 2 hours, Renae will demonstrate 3 simple evening meals as well as a quick and easy dessert for spontaneous sweet tooth cravings.
You’ll get to try your hand at a couple of the dishes before sampling them. You’ll also get a take-home copy of all the recipes for you to try them out at home. All meals are gluten and dairy free, vegetarian options available (please notify Renae if required).
Breakfast for Little Legends
Breakfast cereal companies are increasingly under scrutiny for the high sugar content and low nutritional value of popular kids lines – and rightly so! Renae developed this workshop in response to her clients’ difficulties in finding a healthy brekky substitute that the kids will go for.
During this 1.5-hour cooking workshop, parents will spend 1 hour preparing 3 nutritious and delicious child-friendly breakfast options, before being joined by their children for a half hour family feast of all your yummy creations.
Supervised on-site children’s activities will be available for your child while you attend the cooking component of the workshop. You’ll leave with full tummies, happy kids, and a hard copy of all the recipes from the workshop.
Kids Get Cooking
Let’s face it, kids can be extremely fussy eaters! But, we know that when kids eat better, they behave better, and they are much less likely to get sick.
Renae designed this kids cooking workshop based on research findings showing that when kids are involved in the preparing and cooking process, they are more inclined to try new foods. Over 1.5 hours, children aged 8 – 14 will learn 3 simple and delicious recipes, and will discuss the importance of fuelling their bodies and brains with wholefoods.
At the end of the workshop, participants will share the dishes they have created, and they’ll go home with copies of recipes so that they can re-create them at home for the family.
